A waste of a perfectly cool album title.
Damn, Silverstein's Paul Marc Rousseau is one funny dude.
Before Silverstein hit our shores, we chatted with rhythm guitarist Josh Bradford about the upcoming tour, the new album, and on outliving their peers.
Silverstein sounding like Silverstein
Silverstein have been quite active since the release of their 'Rescue' album late last year, including a very well received mini album 'Short Songs,' which features covers and original version of punk hardcore jams. Plus and appearance on the latest 'Punk Goes Pop' release with an outstanding version of Kayne West's Runaway. As they gear up to play all of this new music around Australia for their June tour, KYS caught up with front man Shane Told to see why the band has been so busy.
Rick Wakeman eat your heart out...
Silverstein are some of the busiest bees in the modern post-hardcore scene, churning out six full-length albums and a string of EPs across their twelve-year career. Their latest slab is ‘Short Songs’, a love-letter to the past that pairs breakneck punk and hardcore songwriting with covers of genre pioneers like Orchid and NOFX. Frontman Shane Told recently spoke with Kill Your Stereo about the new album and the band’s plans for 2012.
A trademark and typical release.
Over 10 years as a band now and Canadian post-hardcore outfit Silverstein have shown absolutely no sign of slowing down. Now that they've got Soundwave done and dusted, they're eagerly awaiting the release of their fifth studio album 'Rescue' which is due later this month. While they were over here for Soundwave, I had a chance to chat with Guitarist Josh Bradford at their Melbourne Sidewave.
Looking to the year ahead
Not ready to go down with the ship just yet...
The 2008 Vans Boys Of Summer Tour marks the third time those crazy canucks in Silverstein will be making the journey to our fair country. Front man Shane Told was nice enough to answer these questions...
