Sean Pentecost, the original drummer for Superheist, has passed away. 

The band shared the news in a tribute to Pentecost, saying he had "passed away in his sleep in his home in St.Kilda".

"It’s with a heavy heart that we bring the sad news of the passing of the great Seanheist,” read the post.

"Sean Pentecost, The original Superheist drummer passed away in his sleep in his home in St.Kilda. Seanheist was an integral part of The Heist throughout the heyday of the band playing drums on Apocalypse, 8 Miles High, The Prize Recruit, Identical Remote Control Reactions and New.Rare.Live. Hitting the country’s biggest stages and touring far and wide....

Pentecost was a founding member of the group, playing drums until 1995 following Superheist's formation in Frankston, Victoria in 1993 with band members Rod McLeod, DW Norton, Fetah Sabawi and Adrian Sudborough. 

He then returned to the group in 1998 and remained a member until 2004.
