What an amazing debut line-up

More Mariachi El Bronx More Mariachi El Bronx

A brand new three-day festival has descended upon Melbourne and it sounds incredible. Billed The Lost Lands and created by Falls Fest founder Simon Daly, the freshly minted festival "for creatives, music-lovers and the adventurous" features a stellar line-up led by LA outfit Mariachi El Bronx, folk rockers The Waifs, bluesman CW Stoneking and heaps, heaps more.

Rounding out the massive three-day Melbourne Cup weekender are Missy Higgins, OzomatliArchitecture In Helsinki, The Grates, The Bamboos with Tim Rogers, Harts, Tash Sultana, Olympia, Ali Barter, Pounded By The Surf, Nicky Bomba, Ainslie Wills, Alex Lahey, The Little Stevies and The Royal Jellies.

The family-friendly festival encourages music-loving parents to bring their children along as it boasts a literacy area hosting readings, discussions and workshops for songwriting, cooking, yoga, circus acts and more. Daly's desire to focus on a whole family experience stemmed from his own family of five.

"In Europe a number of festivals include children; beyond ‘entry’. They program shared experiences to be enjoyed by parents, kids, singles - anyone really. The result is a more sophisticated generation who know, love and participate in the festival experience," Daly explained.

"I think there’s an appetite for more experiences crafted with parents and kids in mind and it’s exciting for the industry."

Held at Werribee Mansion from 28 to 30 October, the festival will also feature an amazing program of eats, beer, organic spirits and also an interactive camp kitchen.
