Sydney indie rockers, the loveably warm-sounding CREO recently dropped their debut EP ‘Subtitles For X, Y, Z’, a release that they'll be touring throughout this month and well into November.

In it's most basic description, ‘Subtitles For X, Y, Z’ is a pretty dang solid release consisting of five emotionally-gripping and delicately melodic indie-rock tracks; all engineered and produced by Nathan Sheehy (Dune Rats, Birds of Tokyo, Bluejuice). With well-written, well-structured and utterly dynamic songs, CREO harness massive walls of guitar melodies and layers, simple but tight and effective rhythm sections, have an endearing pop sensibility hanging about them and have their tracks driven along by these intimate, often soaring, Scottish-tinged vocals of frontman Jorjee Haman.

The best example of all this comes with this EP's stunning standout song, the titular track. CREO actually revealed an accompanying music video for the song not too long ago (which you can find below). Directed and shot by Rod Enriquez at this abandoned, burnt-down school in their native Western Sydney, the film clip keeps steady in line with the themes of the song, as this location captures the moody, apocalyptic-like aesthetic that the track's emotions offer. Which is exactly how Haman put it in a recent statement:

“The song is all about escaping the constraints our mind sets on us. The apocalyptic setting is meant to be symbolic of the maze that are those thoughts, and I'm trying to find my way out of it”.

A hard work ethic is always commendable in local bands, and CREO is no different, what with them touring the East Coast playing seven shows across QLD, NSW, VIC and ACT, and are set to announce some additional dates to this upcoming run soon.

2017 is but the beginning for these guys. Seriously, if CREO isn't headlining thousand caps rooms in a year or two's time, then there is truly no hope for the Aussie music industry!
