Bad news for any of you hoping to catch The Faceless on their Australian tour with The Black Dahlia Murder.

Bad news for any of you hoping to catch The Faceless on their Australian tour this week with The Black Dahlia Murder, as the band are a no show.

A band who has had more former and touring members than they've probably had actual waiters, U.S. tech-death purveyors The Faceless have been a no show for their current Australian run in support of The Black Dahlia Murder; with the band having missed both the tour's first two shows in Perth and Adelaide this week. The heavy, alien-loving Cali metal outfit will also not be appearing at either of their upcoming New Zealand dates either.

Boo-fucking-urns!

This bullshit was perhaps foreshadowed when The Faceless also reportedly pulled out of their recent Hammersonic Jakarta show; an omen of sorts for what was to come with this Australian/New Zealand dates.

The tour's promoter, Soundworks Touring, issued the following post via Facebook today, explaining the situation to punters and voicing their vast annoyance at the band's incompetence, their utter lack of communication and the sheer level of unprofessionalism displayed, saying:

"Due to complete incompetency by the band and their management, and with a total lack of respect for Soundworks Touring, and more importantly their fans, THE FACELESS have this morning officially cancelled their entire Australian and New Zealand tour. Over the past week we have been continuously lied to, misled and left in the dark as to the whereabouts of the band since their first scheduled appearance on May 9th.

We at Soundworks Touring have done everything in our power to bring the band here for these shows, but THE FACELESS have been completely unprofessional in their behaviour and this cancellation is 100% solely their doing.

To any disgruntled fans who wish to voice their opinion on this matter, we at Soundworks Touring are more than willing to put you in direct contact with the band and their management so they can address your questions. In the meantime feel free to express yourself on the bands official facebook page.

We apologise to fans for the cancellation and wholeheartedly share your disappointment, but as mentioned previously, this has been 100% out of our control. The rest of the tour package will continue as is and we hope you still enjoy the amazing show THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, PUTRID PILE, WHORETOPSY and UNRAVEL are displaying.

Yours in all sincerity, Brad and Dysie, Soundworks Touring."

Fuck me, that's just poor form all around on the band's part, really.

I'm now going to label this whole shitfest as a "Michael Keene" moment. I mean, it sounds like the band didn't even leave the fucking States! An email being sent prior to the tour commencing, explaining why they weren't going to make it, with a small statement would have sufficed. Yes, people still would have been angry, but not to this degree and not impacting their diminishing reputation as much.

I really do hope that Soundworks can actually put any and all angry and curious fans in direct touch with The Faceless and Michael Keene so that they can get answers as to why the fuck the band has acted like a bunch of dullards on this tour and sadly kept up their radio silence. The Faceless haven't made any statement on this tour cancellation just yet - that's even if they do - but that hasn't stopped people from commenting on their initial Australian post on Facebook. My personal favourite comment so far was from one Lindon Faynes, who said, "Change your name to the Spineless".

Sure, 'Planetary Duality' was a fucking hectic record, but that doesn't excuse this kind of behaviour.

Good luck trying to get another tour over here again, guys.

As for the rest of the tour, if you're wanting a night of tight, heavy and most certainly brutal metal offerings, The Black Dahlia Murder, Putrid Pile, Whoretopsy and Unravel will all be playing as scheduled tonight in Brisbane as well as the tour's remaining two Aussie dates in Sydney and Melbourne.
