Everyone's favourite Swedish metal outfit, Meshuggah, are in the studio preparing new music...at least, if the basic assumptions gathered from a Facebook update prove accurate.

Everyone's favourite Swedish metal outfit, Meshuggah, are in the studio preparing new music...at least, if the basic assumptions gathered from a recent Facebook update prove accurate.

Four years since the release of their current studio album, 'Koloss', fans could hear new music in 2016.

Not quite at the snail's pace of Tool or Necrophagist when it comes to releasing new albums, the band said previously they hoped to start recording in early 2016.

Equally, on a scale of social media engagement, if a band like Tonight Alive is considered the benchmark for regular updates then the Scandinavians assume the 'less is more' approach, with a brief post (see below) simply featuring a snare drum with no accompanying caption.
