You knew FISHER’s inaugural Out 2 Lunch festival was successful by looking at the photos and videos, but did you know how successful it was?

Headlined by the Aussie DJ with support from Vintage Culture, a DJ set by Flight Facilities, Little Fritter and Shimmy, Out 2 Lunch brought a whopping 30,000 punters to Coolangatta Beach on the Gold Coast last week (4 May) and injected over $50 million into the local economy.

30,000 fans sold out the event in minutes, and with interstate travellers (maybe even some visitors from New Zealand) heading to the exclusive Gold Coast event, accommodation was sold out across the Gold Coast.

In addition to selling out local accommodation, Out 2 Lunch allowed more than 200 businesses to engage in the planning and delivery of the event, and TEG Live created over 2,000 jobs to bring the festival to life.

Out 2 Lunch was also a philanthropic event. $1 from each ticket sold went to the Starlight Foundation, and $20 was donated from guest list/comp ticket punters to the Pink Elephants Support Network. With all the donations added up, $35,320 was raised for the Starlight Foundation and the Pink Elephants Support Network.

“TEG is delighted with the inaugural Out 2 Lunch Festival, and it was great to see the economic impact that the Festival had on the local Community,” TEG Group CEO Geoff Jones commented in a press release.

Stating that putting on the event was “no easy event”, Jones called the required planning and logistics for the festival “extraordinary.”

“This was the very first time this many people attended a staged Event on Coolangatta Beach,” Jones added.

“We would like to sincerely thank Team FISHER, the City of Gold Coast, the World Surf League, Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce, Coolangatta and Greenmount Surf Life Saving Clubs and the many, many other Partners and Stakeholders who helped TEG bring this epic event to life.”

FISHER said, “That was so special… honestly one of the best days of my life … 30,000 of us going mad on the beach in my hometown!!!!! This is what dreams are made of. Thank you so much for being a part of it.”

In an interview with 7 News last week, Fisher gushed about the festival: “I can’t wipe the smile off my face. I’m really pumped, and I can’t wait for everyone to have fun on the beach. I’ve been waiting for this day all my life. It doesn’t get much better.”
